Custom Fittings

“It’s not about the fittings.” – Mark Maffett

It’s about the tubing you intend to use with the fittings.

Component Supply offers standard fittings and stopcocks, but we also provide custom leak-tight connections based on your specific needs. When it comes to finding which fitting works best for your tubing, it is important to realize that every tube only works with a specific fitting. For example, soft tubings such as silicone, Tygon, and PVC-based only work with barbed fittings. Metal tubing works best with a compression fitting, and rigid tubing works with a push to connect fitting. However, PTFE Tubing and Hypodermic Tubing do not have corresponding fittings because of the fractional or metric sizes. Therefore, our Custom Fab department solves this issue with custom-drilled ferrules, so that the tubing can fit into the fittings. The max psi we recommend for a hypodermic tubing adaptor ferrule is 100 psi because it creates a tight but not a permanent fixture on the tubing. For PTFE ferrules, we include metal tubing inserts with them, so there is a more secured connection.

We specialize in producing custom fittings in a variety of configurations based on customers' needs and or specifications. Get the process going by requesting a rapid quote and uploading your drawing file below.
