Stainless Steel Wire

Stainless steel is the most commonly used material for medical applications due to its versatility, corrosion-resistance, and cost effectiveness. Component Supply 304 and 316 stainless steel mandrels are spring tempered and straightened with a bright finish. The addition of molybdenum in 316 distinguishes it from 304 and aids in corrosion resistance to chlorides. Standard diameters range from 0.003” to 0.150” but custom diameters are possible.

Capabilities: precision cutting, bending, end-forming, EDM hole drilling, laser welding, custom assembly.

Hypodermic Tubing

CS Custom Fab utilizes 304 and 316 stainless steel hypodermic tubing in gauge sizes ranging from 5G to 33G in multiple wall thicknesses for custom applications. Type 304 stainless steel, with its chromium-nickel content, is the most versatile and widely used of the austenitic stainless steels. Type 316 stainless steel has similar physical properties and fabrication characteristics as Type 304, but the addition of molybdenum increases the corrosion resistance.

Capabilities: precision cutting, bending, end-forming, EDM hole drilling, laser welding, custom assembly.

Nitinol

Component Supply commonly works with the superelastic alloy of Nitinol, which is both kink resistant and flexible. Nitinol has common use in the making of stents, prosthetics, catheters and other medical device applications. Nitinol is known for its ability to be strained up to eight times more than ordinary spring steel without permanent deformation.

Capabilities: precision cutting, bending, end-forming, EDM hole drilling, laser welding.

PTFE Tubing

PTFE tubing is strong, translucent, lightweight and flexible while maintaining a high dielectric strength over a wide range of frequencies. Also known as Teflon, PTFE possesses biocompatibility, tight tolerances and resistance to a wide range of temperatures and chemicals making it the preferred material for a variety of industries. Component Supply frequently works with Zeus PTFE Tubing in AWG sizes from 32 to 1 in standard, thin, and light wall thicknesses.

Capabilities: precision cutting.

Seamless Annealed Tubing

Annealed seamless stainless steel tubing is suitable for applications demanding higher strengths and tighter tolerances. Because it has no seam or weld point, this annealed tubing can withstand higher pressure and resist corrosion.

Capabilities: precision cutting, bending, end-forming, EDM hole drilling, laser welding.
